It’s finally here! The Three Minute Heroes Vol.2 album comes out today, with 13 brand new tracks written by local bands and singer/songwriters and using words from young people.
This album is the second one that has been produced as part of the Three Minute Heroes project; where we take creative writing sessions into secondary schools to encourage young people to talk about their mental health and find ways to get their feelings out and onto paper. The young people involved have said that being part of Three Minute Heroes has made them feel like they are not alone and has taught them that they need to talk and be open about how they feel.
Endoflevelbaddie, an artist who featured on the album, had a little bit of a different experience to the other Three Minute Heroes artist’s. He remixed the spoken word piece that Jodie Langford had written for the album and turned her work into a banging electronic track. Here’s what he had to say about the process:
‘I really enjoyed working with Jodie Langford’s powerful spoken word piece. It was a rewarding challenge to maintain the impact of the young people’s words and Jodie’s delivery without turning it into too much of a dance tune.’
One of the amazing things about the music produced for Three Minute Heroes album’s is that every single track has a different sound. We use an eclectic selection of genres and a wide range of artists to make different tracks which compliment the unique voice from the writings of the young people.
